Water and Ice Cream

Doing big girl stuff is a big deal to LW. We have a bag of new water bottles and she insists on drinking from a water fountain. It's a little messy, but she loves it.
NW had a BBQ for the end of her vacation bible school. The hot dogs and mac and cheese were great, but these 2 kids loved the Drumstick ice cream cones. Look out cake pops, there is a new favorite on the block.

We didnt get LW a cone of her own. We didnt figure she would like it. Wrong. Instead she ate most of mine. She wore some of it too. She put her arm around me when it was time to take the picture. As soon as the camera went away it was back to the Drumstick.

Over a Months Worth of Pictures

NW got to shoot a bow and arrow at the parade in Howard Lake. She was so proud to hit the target.
Action shot. Check out the arrow in the air.

We rented the pedal cars at Minnehaha Falls. There were 3 riders and 1 pedaler. Guess who was the pedaler..

This was the inaugural trip in the Burley for Lucy. She had a blast. We almost needed a trailer for the trailer. The girls had so much stuff. We could have been gone for a week.

Chillin at the hotel in Tulsa.
Everyone took their turn standing atop the podium.

We have a few frogs that live in our back yard. The girls and the neighbor girls love them. They even have names. But these poor frogs go through alot. They get carried all over the yard and put under buckets and fed grass. I'm not even sure frogs eat grass. But this contraption was my trap to catch them. It was pretty funny. Kind of an ACME product from the road runner and coyote. In case you were wondering, it didnt work. We havent seen the frogs for a few days.

She fell asleep reading books.

NW stayed at Grandma M's house for 2 nights. So that meant alot of time with LW. She was in heaven. Here she is eating popcorn at Lucky 13.

Riding the seal at Minnehaha Park.

I'm not sure what look she was after with only one strap up. Maybe Tarzan or Andre the Giant.

This is what happens when you leave her alone for about 10 minutes to play in the water. It doesnt even occur to her that the sink will overflow. It is about 1/4" from being all over the floor.

You might recognize the countertop in the pic. It's the Angry Catfish. But check out who is in the back..it's LW. She has now joined our regular trip for coffee and donuts. Just me and the girls. Mom goes grocery shopping.

A maze, a horse and more popcorn

This was the maze at Centennial Lakes. We were racing to the middle. It was funny to see NW looking ahead to see if she was on a dead end path and then re-grouping for a new route.

A birthday party last weekend was at a farm. So everyone got to go on pony rides if they wanted to. NW was first in line and not scared at all.

Does she look scared?

There were a few rides at the farm. As usual, they are not both looking at the camera.

We spend alot of time at Dave's. Every weekend and sometimes twice. Here NW is eating popcorn straight off the table. Check out all of that cheese on her fingers. She loves the triple mix.

Can you hold this for me?

I know I have told everyone before, but LW really likes popcorn. Her latest trick is to get a bowl of popcorn and then get you to hold the bowl for her. That way she can use both hands to eat popcorn. Pretty clever.

Here is a video of us at Dave's. NW is resting in the back with her feet up.

Lots Going On

This is a picture after NW's dance recital. Cameras weren't allowed inside the show. So we snapped a few afterwards.

Most of the Schaffer's were in attendance too.

The family unit.

This is how we see LW.

At around the same time as NW's dance recital was her musical at preschool. They put 50+ kids that are 3-5 years old up on stage and let them sing some tunes.

Not sure if she is yawning or singing the wrong song.

At NW's last day of preschool they met at a park and they had butterflies to play with. I wasn't there, but I can't believe that they didn't get squished.

Being super gentle.

NW's favorite teacher, Mrs. Andrews. She will always have a special place in NW's heart as her first real teacher. She was great and super patient with the kids.

You might remember this young man from before, it's Charlie. They are still best buds. But next year they wont be in the same class. I hope they can handle a long distance relationship.

Big Day with Daddy

I didn't really plan to keep NW with me all day, but it worked out great. We started the day by heading to the Angry Catfish like we do every Sunday. Then we ended up going to a park and all of the sudden it was lunch time. So we sent to Rusty Taco and sat at the bar and had tacos and chips and salsa. Then after lunch we went to another park and to her surprise grandma and grandpa joined us. So what was supposed to be a quick run for coffee and donuts ended up taking all day. To top it all off, I got to watch the hockey game with grandpa which was alot of fun. Not much of a a hockey game, but the company was great.
She thought this was a dinosaur. She wanted to stand on the body and she wondered what happened to the head.
Pine cones vs wood chips. Always bet on pine cones.
I know this is out of focus. But there is something interesting about it.
I was supposed to be in this selfie.

The trains are running in Test Mode. If you look closely, you can see everyone through the window.

She's the captain of the ship.

Here is a picture that NW took of me. Not too bad.

This is her Titanic pose on the front of the boat.

Here she is dancing to the music in Mears Park.

Guess who else loves popcorn?

If you listen to the doctor, kids aren't supposed to have popcorn until they are two years old. That is for most kids and not Wing kids. Every year I watch Dave's Popcorn website to see when they open up for the season. When they do, look out because here come the Wings. Now that there are more of us in town, they need to really look out. If there is one thing that we can do it's eat popcorn. But cheeseballs could give popcorn a run for their money.

This was the first pilgrimage to Dave's for LW. At first we weren't going to let her have any and just rub it in that we were eating it and she couldn't. That didn't even last until we go back to the truck. I was weak and she was eating handfuls before I could get her in her car seat. She ate popcorn all the way home and so did AW and NW. By the time we got home the medium popcorn was gone and I didn't even get any.
