What a Great Weekend!

Uncle Aaron and Lilly were in town for a few days and we had a ton of fun. It's always great when the Wings of Tulsa are in town. This time was especially fun. It was non stop and never a dull moment.

Here are a whole bunch of pics to prove it:

This was our only trip to Dave's. It was on the first day. We were too busy to make it back.

In between hand fulls of popcorn.

We took in a couple of Saints games too. Here we are at the first game hoping it won't rain.

Panoramic view of the field with a little bit of rain. No big deal, it went away and they were ready to play ball.

Dinner at the ball park. We all sat in someone elses seats and ate BBQ sandwiches and chicken strips.
Not related to us at all, but these 4 ladies sat next to us during the game. I thought it was pretty funny to see 3 of the 4 on their phones Facebooking. Kids these days.

On our way in to grandma and grandpas place. Look out, here we come!

We had standing room tickets for the second game. Here they are yelling at Hamburger the pitcher for the Saints. The girls did great. They made it through the entire game and even ran the bases after the game and got some player autographs.

In front of the same baseball as before.

Perfect day for a ball game. All decked out in her Saints hat and getting the ball ready for some autographs.

This was LW during the fireworks. Too loud. She sat inside and watched the fireworks.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but that is a tiny turtle that she is picking up. After she moved it, we weren't even sure it was alive. It wasn't moving, but it was probably pretty scared.

The Saints

Grandma and Grandpa invited us over to St Paul to partake in the Worlds Largest Game of Catch. It was not like the name would lead you to believe. It was an event hosted by the St Paul Saints with games for the kids and soft baseballs to throw around. It was a blast. The Saints players are all about 25 years old and I would doubt if any of them had kids. But these guys were great with our kids and I was amazed. These guys would have played catch with the girls for hours and I dont think it was because they had to. They looked like they were genuinely having a good time too and it didn't seem like work.

The girls had all of the players sign a baseball. It was funny watching them walk up the guys and ask for an autograph. At first they were very timid and shy. But after a few they were running up to the guys and giving them hugs and high fives when they were done.

Each girl also developed a favorite player.
Here is LW's favorite.

Here is NW's favorite. She went up to him and asked him if he would play catch with her. He would have played catch with her forever. He was a great sport.

How cute. Her, not him.
This was the organized game of catch. LW played catch with the manager of the Saints and NW played catch with the pitching coach. Grandma and Grandpa played catch with each other. It was great.

Here they are again. #23 was standing behind NW and encouraging her to throw high and tight. Give him a little chin music. He was calling her by name and told her to come and say hi at the next game.

Prince

I am admittedly not a hard core Prince fan. Over the past 15 years I have never really "listened" to his music. He was more relevant to me when I was a kid. But like any other Minnesotan I was stunned when he passed away. When I came home from work, AW said that she wanted to go to Paisley Park. She didnt want to regret not going later on in life. So I explained the situation to the kids and asked them if they wanted to go to Paisley Park. They were eager to go and we grabbed some popcorn on the way. Looking back, it now makes sense why they were eager to go. When we got to Paisley Park they started asking me where the slides were and where were the swings. They were very disappointed to learn that this wasn't their type of park. No swings, no slides and nothing to climb on. But they pulled it together and were great sports.

NW was on my shoulders taking pics. That's here thumb in the pic.
While we were at it, AW and I went to watch Purple Rain at Target Field and walked down to First Ave too. It was quite impressive the amount of people that came out. It was pretty moving.
