Relaxin'

LW will yell at you that she wants you to relax in the chairs and tell you where you are supposed to sit. Here is her pose when she is Relaxin'.

Hoedown and a Music Concert

NW had a hoedown at school and all the kids got dressed up in their best country western gear. It was like Halloween, but everyone came dressed as cowboys and cowgirls. Most of the dad's just came as they were, they might have worn a plaid shirt, but that was about it. That was all I did too.

NW also had a music concert last week. She one for the entire school and then did another at night for all the family members. Everyone had a song to sing and had a chance to be in front of the big crowd. NW actually got to do two because one of the kids was sick. She pinched hit for the kids that was supposed to hold up the 0 card in that song.
This is every kid in the 3 kindergarten classes.

Huge Slide!

On my way out to a jobsite I was coming through a neighborhood and discovered this huge slide at a park. It was bigger than anything I have ever seen. I was pretty excited to bring the kids out to give it a shot.

We finally got out to the slide and I was seriously disappointed. You would think that on a slide this size you would fly down it. Nope... It was like someone intentionally made it slow. I think there was something wrong with it. The kids going down it would keep getting stuck and have to pull themselves to get going again. We still gave it a few runs though. I tried it too and it was worse for me. I guess being heavier doesn't help.

Winter Canival and then Some Snow

She wasn't afraid of the Vulcans at all. She had them put a V on her cheek and then went back for another one.
The Unofficial Vulcan Krewe..minus mom.

Getting ready to sled down the hill.

We waited by this fence for about an hour to see some robotic snow plows. I thought it would be cool to see. It turns out it wasn't. The first robot moved about 20 feet and then got stuck and wouldn't do anything. The people behind us said that it was incredibly uneventful. I couldn't have said it better.
Even I went down the hill.
It snowed about 12" yesterday. I thought it would be fun to go pick up NW at school with my bike and pull her home in the sled. This time I was right. I got to her school in no time and told her the plan. Her first questions was if I brought her helmet...which I didn't. I put her in the sled and pulled her all of the way home and she loved every minute of it.
Here we are pulling into the driveway. She thought it would be fun to fill the sled with snow. Little did she know, that made it a little harder for dear old dad.

Here is a video of LW's turn. After this I ended up pulling both of them together around the neighborhood and through the yard. It was pretty fun.

Ice Skating

The blog fell off my radar for a while. I'll do what I can to post some pics from the past couple of month. We have been taking pictures, I just haven't been posting them.

At the rink, getting ready to hit the ice for open skating. We spend about 30 minutes getting ready to skate and then only actually skate for about 15.

Tearing it up.

Veterans Day

For Veterans Day NW's school asked that we bring in a family picture with a veteran. Grandpa Jim and NW are in the middle column at the bottom. Nice gesture by her school to show some appreciation to those that served.

I saw this display in person yesterday and it was alot more impressive than I expected. The display covers the entire wall of the lobby of the school. There were family pictures with kids and their grandparents, kids with their parents or just pictures of those have served. The entire things was very touching and very well done.  It was a nice thank you to everyone that did what was typically a thankless job.

Thank you.

Sleep over...kind of

Grandma M had everyone sleep over so that I could paint LW's room uninterrupted. This was good until about 11:30. Then I went and picked up LW so she could sleep in her own bed. AW and NW still stayed overnight. I brought LW back over at 7:30am to rejoin the party and so I could get back to painting.
PJ's on and ready for bed. Just kidding.

Here is how LW rides in the cart at Target. It reminds me of the movie Titanic.
